In a world that demands constant attention, the sauna offers rare permission to disconnect. No screens. No noise. Just heat, cold, breath, and presence.
My first sauna experience was at a local gym - dim lighting, tiled walls and silence. I figured saunas just weren’t for me. That changed one year at a festival, when I stepped into a packed, wood-fired sauna tucked away in a quiet corner. It was intimate, a little awkward at first… but completely transformative.
Since then, I’ve sought out saunas everywhere - from beaches to city rooftops and gardens, and each time, that same feeling returns. It made me want to bring that experience closer to home. And so, the idea for Urban Heat Sauna was born.
Urban Heat is my way of bringing the magic of sauna to my little corner of the world - blending Nordic traditions with ancestral rituals from my South Asian heritage. It’s about community, care, and carving out time for ourselves and each other.
